Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Funds for SuffolkCoasts and Heaths and The Dedham Vale

The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) has  grant funds for 2011-2012 that are now open for applications. Full details of eligibility and downloadable forms for Suffolk Coast and Heaths are available here:

Home Grown: Under the ‘New Promoters’ element of their scheme, Home Grown can offer financial support to groups wishing to put on arts events for their local community. http://www.creativeartseast.co.uk/homegrown/

Local charities: Several parishes in Suffolk have specific trusts, set up to support local residents and community activities. Please visit InfoLink where you can use the search facility for a full list of parish councils.  http://suffolkinfolink.suffolkcc.gov.uk

Locality Budgets: Councillors are able to make recommendations about funding from this budget for local projects in their area. Last year groups and projects that benefited include village halls, sports and social clubs, and toddler groups.

Mid Suffolk – Minor Grants: This grant is aimed at local communities wishing to receive a ‘one off’ grant of up to £1,000 for small-scale community projects. Grants will only be given to projects that take place within Mid Suffolk. Please note: quality projects that are new and in more remote rural areas will be given priority. Registered charities, other constituted non-profit organisations, groups and individuals are eligible to apply. These funds are mainly for covering the project costs and are not for refurbishments, distribution, marketing or revenue costs. The level of grant aid is up to £1,000 at the discretion of the Council. Applications can be made throughout the year, providing the grant is used within one year of application. Mid Suffolk Small Grants      Mid Suffolk District Council are offering Small Arts Grants of up to £250 to individuals or community/arts organisations that are delivering work within their district for more details see Small Arts Grants

Suffolk Foundation (includes Suffolk Single Gateway grants): This is an independent grant giving organisation that supports local community groups and projects which make a genuine difference to the lives of Suffolk people. They manage funds on behalf of individuals, companies, trusts and public agencies, acting as the vital link between local donors and local needs.

Transforming Suffolk Community Fund: provides a grants programme for Suffolk’s voluntary and community sector including social enterprise companies and community interest companies. Transforming Suffolk Innovation Fund provides a grants programme designed for Suffolk’s statutory, private, voluntary and community organisations that are engaged and delivering outcomes that compliment Suffolk’s Community Strategy (Transforming Suffolk 2008-2028). The Community Strategy sets out long term ambition and priorities for the county and looks ahead to the issues and challenges that Suffolk faces over the coming years. It aims to improve the quality of life in Suffolk for its people and for its communities. The fund recognises the important role that the community and voluntary sector can play in supporting this ambition.
